Math AR is an augmented reality game where the player has to solve mathematical equations against the clock. The game facilitates dynamic gameplay based on location and the physical characteristics of a space. In the final game the player can select from three difficulty modes (under development) depending on age and level of Maths competency. When the game starts, the player has one minute to solve as many equations as possible based on the available numbers/operands and selecting related operators(s). They do this by exploring the surrounding area and shooting/capturing numbers by throwing a ball at them to solve the equation(s). The characters/numbers movement is based on the physical characteristics of the physical area as is the behaviour of the ball when thrown. This offers the players a number of strategic choices e.g., wait until the number is in full view or try to bounce the ball off a number of surfaces to save time. Math AR is not only a game but also a tool to create levels based on specific locations and physical characteristics of a space which creators can share with other players and users. The video demonstrates the main gameplay and level design process.
